“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”

by William Shakespeare

A timeless tale originally set in ancient Greece after the bitter war between Duke Theseus of Athens and Queen Hippolyta of the Amazons. As the Victor, Theseus brings back Hippolyta as a prize of war intending to marry her. Hermia and Helena are treated cruelly by Helena’s lover, Demetrius, and Hermia’s father, Egeus, on their return. Theseus tries to change the mood by ordering celebrations and the workmen of Athens enthusiastically plan a play.   At Court discord and misery reign, but then they all enter the dream world of the fairies in the forest.

This production features excellent acting, fabulous costumes and is full of energy and comedy!
