Mezzamorphosis: Advanced Group (Ages 15-21)
Students join or progress to this group as they gain vital performance skills and have a level of maturity to examine more complex texts and ideas in performance. The courses are almost all practical, with students learning through improvisation, devising, rehearsal and performance.
The students will learn further acting technique and theory through practical lessons and performance. They will find out about significant theatre practitioners such as Konstantin Stanislavski and Bertolt Brecht so they can apply their methods to their work. There will be occasional workshops about Shakespeare and other significant and influential writers.
The group have opportunities to perform in the All England Theatre Festival and The National Theatre Connections Plays. They will continue learning more complex theatre skills through workshops, script work and improvisation. They will have occasional one off workshops from other teachers to enhance their skill set and knowledge.
We also run workshops in preparing material for audition as well as regular classes developing acting skills and techniques. Many of our advanced group members are also currently preparing to enter the higher grades in LAMDA and VANGUARD examinations, which can offer valuable UCAS points.
The advanced group meets every Saturday in term time between 9:30am-12pm
